Introduction

Blogger is a popular platform for creating and publishing blogs. However, many bloggers may not be aware of some of the useful tools that Blogger offers to optimize their writing process. In this article, I will share some of the insights that I have gained from writing in Blogger for years.

• Unlike WordPress which has two different eidtors (classic and block), Blogger has only one editor that is simple and easy to use.

Formatting Your Posts

One of the tools that can help you format your posts more efficiently is text styles. Text styles enables you to apply consistent formatting across all posts, even when you change Blogger Theme.

• This can improve the readability and appearance of your content.
• Apart from Heading, I also use Paragraph style for body text to separate two different ideas with some spacing.
• You may also use bold to emphasize important points.

Another tool that can help you format your posts is clear formatting.

• Clear formatting allows you to remove any unwanted formatting the text that you copy and paste from other websites or sources and reset the text formatting to default.
• This can prevent any potential formatting issues or conflicts with your Blogger theme.

Inserting or Editing Links

While external links may take readers away from your website, they can also provide valuable information and references that enhance your website's trustworthiness.

• Moreover, internal and external links is important for search engine optimization.

To insert or edit a link, select the relevant text that you want to use as the anchor text and click on the insert or edit link icon in the toolbar.

• You can then enter the URL of the link and choose whether to open this link in a new window. Opening a link in a new link can keep your readers on your posts while allowing them to access the linked page.

Adding Images and Videos

Another way to make your posts more interesting and engaging is to add images and videos. To add them, click on the insert image or insert video icons.

• For optimal viewing and SEO purposes, you should edit your images after uploading them. To do so, select the image and click on the insert image icon in the toolbar. You can then edit the image to adjust image size and add alt tags.
• Alt tags are descriptive texts that tell search engines and screen readers what the image is about.

Sharing YouTube Videos

You can also embed the YouTube video in your posts for a more engaging experience.

• To do so, you can click on Insert Video icon in the toolbar and select YouTube.

Alternatively, you can embed the YouTube video through html view.

• Go to the YouTube video that you want to embed and click on the share button
• Click on Embed and copy the HTML code that appears.
• Go back to your Blogger post and switch the Blogger view to HTML View.
• Paste the HTML code at where you want to embed the video.
• Switch back to Compose View.

Editing Post Settings

Before publishing the post, be sure to edit post settings on the right-hand side, specifically

• Labels - for organizing posts
• Published on - for scheduling posts or updating date of last update
• Search description - for inserting meta description that can improve your search engine optimization.
